The Myrtle Beach Triathlon, Halfmax Championship and the USAT Club National Championships will be produced and managed by Ultramax Events.

The 2010 USAT National Club Championships will be held in conjunction with the Halfmax National Championship. This concept began in 2007 and has proven to be a powerful combination. The Championship weekend will feature multiple races taking place on the same day of racing. The participation limit at the new venue will expand to 2,500 athletes.

COURSE PREVIEW - The hub of the event will take place at Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. The swim will occur in the Intracoastal Waterway. The S.C. Department of Transportation authorized the closing of a portion of S.C. 31 for the bicycling segment. The U.S. Coast Guard and S.C. Department of Natural Resources are closing TriSports.comthe Intracoastal Waterway to boat traffic during the swim portion.

VENUE - The Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina is a year-round vacationer's paradise along the sun-drenched shores of the Atlantic coastline. Wide, sandy beaches stretching 60 miles from Little River to Georgetown. The warm sand and salty sea breezes are just the beginning. Halfmax Entry Options

Only the best race at Halfmax! Athletes that earn a qualifying spot can claim victory in that acheivement alone. The qualifying aspects of the Halfmax Championship are unique to the sport of triathlon.

2Visit Myrtle010 HALFMAX CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRY FEES: Due to the qualifying nature the fees will not increase during the year. We expect the race to fill early in the summer. Do not wait too long to register. We will reserve some slots for those that qualify later in the season. We want to give everyone a change to be part of history.

*All Non-USAT members receive mandatory, $10.00 one-day USAT insurance. This will be added automatically to all online registrations. Please add $10 to all mail-in entries. Relay teams, please add $10 per team member. Apply for USAT membership (per-race insurance is included with annual membership).

TriSports.comThe 2010 TriSports.com USAT Halfmax Championship entry is limited to 1,500. This includes both Qualifying and General Entry Slots.

QUALIFYING SLOTS
1,250 Slots have been reserved for Qualifying Athletes.
Only athletes that meet the qualifying standards are eligible for these slots. Athletes are required to include proof of qualifying during online entry. Qualifying status will be verified before Team USA selection.

USATGENERAL ENTRY SLOTS
250 Slots have been reserved for General Entry Athletes.
These 250 slots are open to any athlete that want to race in the Championship. The general entry slots are extremely limited and will likely go very fast this year. General entrants will compete for the same age group awards and will receive the same great race ammenities, however, they will not be eligible for Team USA selection. You can register for General Entry and then request a change to a Qualifying Slot if you are successful in qualifying after you register. This is a good way to make sure you have a slot reserved in the race. We expect the race to fill at a record pace.

IMPORTANT - General Entry slots will NOT be eligible to compete for the World Championship Slots. Only qualifying athletes will be eligible for the slots.

World Championship Slots

TriSports.comThe 2011 Long Course World Triathlon Championships will be hosted in Las Vegas, NV on November 5, 2011. The 2010 TriSports.com Halfmax Championship will be the SOLE qualifying event for the 2011 World Championships. This means there is only one way into the World Championship: you must earn your spot at the 2010 Halfmax Championship as a "qualifiyng" athlete. General Entry registrants will not be eligible to compete for the World Championshiop Slots. This means you must qualify for the Halfmax Championship at one of the qualifying events or you race under the set time standards at any USAT sanctioned half iron-distance event. The 2010 Qualifying Standards are updated and online!

Team USAThe 2010 Halfmax race will have a minimum of 20 slots per age group for the 2011 Long Course World Championships.

2011 ITU Long Distance Worlds to be Held In Henderson, Nevada
HENDERSON, Nev. (November 11, 2009) — The International Triathlon Union, USA Triathlon, the city of Henderson and Lowery's Multi-sport Races are proud to announce the 2011 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships will be held in Henderson, Nev., USA, on Nov. 5, 2011.

"We are thrilled to welcome this world class sporting event to Henderson," Mayor Andy Hafen said. "Henderson is proud to join an elite list of cities and to showcase its ability to produce an international event of this caliber."

As the host city for the Nevada Silverman Triathlon for the past five years, the city of Henderson and Lowery have significant experience and expertise in managing an event of this stature. In addition, southern Nevada boasts 145,000 hotel rooms and the fifth-busiest airport in North America.

"It is a privilege that only few in the United States have been given. To host the ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships speaks volumes of the hard working volunteers and city officials who have made this possible," said Lowery. "Without the support and dedication of this great city, there is no possible way this event could be hosted here. We are thrilled to welcome this world class sporting event to Henderson, and we are confident it will be a hugeGuide Logo success."

Perth, Australia hosted the 2009 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships, a year after Almere, Holland stagedthe event. The last time the Long Distance Triathlon World Championships were held in the United States was in 1996 in Muncie, Ind.

"We are thrilled to have the ITU Long Distance World Championships on American soil," said Jeff Dyrek, USA Triathlon's National Events director. "Henderson & LasVegas will provide athletes with a great event and world class entertainment."

"The U.S. is a very important region for ITU, and we are delighted to be able to bring such a large event back to a country which has such a long and important history within our sport," said Marisol Casado, President of ITU.

About the Nevada Silverman Triathlon:
The Silverman Triathlon is a long distance triathlon held annually in Henderson, Nev. Branded as the toughest course in North America by triathlon icon Dave Scott and echoed by more than 2,500 participants over the past five years, the Nevada Silverman is sure to attract individuals and relay teams from around the world in the coming years.     • Be a U.S. citizen
      • OR
    • Be a U.S. national - someone who has resided in the U.S. for three consecutive years.

USA Triathlon Club National Championship

The Myrtle Beach Triathlon will feature three race distance options. The Halfmax, imtermediate and sprint distance triathlons. These events are open to individual Club Champsentrants. All three race distances will count towards the national club competition in five distinct classifications.

The event is scored based on individual performances. Athletes will compete for the standard age group division crowns. If an entrant is affiliated with a USAT Club finish or Top 10 placing will earn points in the Club Championship classification.

"We are pleased to bring this championship weekend to the east coast for the first time. Over the past few years the Club Championship competition has grown exponetially. The Halfmax and Club Championship combination will be an amazing weekend of racing. A weekend every triathlete and club will want to make sure is on the calendar," said Mark Livesay, Ultramax Nation. "Myrtle Beach is the perfect stage to host these two national championships.”

Athletes MilkClub Divisions:
• Division I - Over 250 members
• Division II - 249 - 130 members
• Division III - 129 - 89 members
• Division IV - 88 - 30 members
• Division V - 29 - 2 members

Club Eligibility:
A club must be a registered USAT club in order to participate in the National Club Championship.
Clubs must provide USA Triathlon with an electronic roster of all eligible club members 30 days prior to the date of the championship.

Club Scoring:
Each finisher and each Top 10 age division placement will recieve club champinship points. Clubs will be ranked within their respective divisions. Complete eligabiltiy and club scoring information can be found here or download the PDF file.

Awards:
Age group awards will be presented to the Top 3+ individuals. The Top 3 clubs in each division will recieve the national club championship awards.

2010 Halfmax Refund & Weather Policy

TriSports.com2010 REFUND POLICY
50% of your entry fee will be refunded up until 45 days from race date. Refunds are not available, for any reason other than active military service, less than 45 days prior to an event.
Event entries are not transferable between persons, events or years.
NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy.
By registering for this event you agree to these refund terms. To request a refund you must e-mail your full details to info@ultramaxtri.com.

Athletes Milk2010 WEATHER POLICY
In the event of inclement weather, the following procedures will be followed:

  1. The event will be postponed as long as possible in hopes the inclement weather will pass.
  2. If the event is is not possible, the event will be cancelled and a 25% credit for next year will be issued for all registered participants in the 2010 event. No refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather.
